CLUB SEASON AT A GLANCE

Tryout Fee: $50
Practices: Approximately 2 per week
Tournaments: 6–8, with a minimum of 6
Select Projected Dues: $2,100
Premier Projected Dues: $2,400–$2,800
Uniform Package: Approximately $300, separate from dues
Club dues also include LAVA Academy Days for additional skill development and ManaMinds mental performance programming.
TRYOUT INFORMATION
All tryouts will be held at Benfield Sports Center in Millersville.
Use the current Age Definition Chart to determine your player's eligible age
division.
Makeup Tryouts: Register first, then email livingalohava@gmail.com to request a makeup session.
What to Bring

• SafeSport completion, if applicable

• A Positive Attitude
Players who are 18 or will turn 18 during the club season must complete required SafeSport training before tryouts.
What We Evaluate
Volleyball ability is only part of our evaluation. We also consider effort, attitude, coachability, competitiveness, communication, response to feedback, positional needs, and overall team fit.

Players planning to attend a makeup session should contact us ahead of time so we can plan coaching coverage accordingly.

SELECT VS PREMIER
LAVA will offer Select and Premier team levels. Both are competitive club programs that include regular practices, tournaments, Academy Days, ManaMinds programming, and the same LAVA standards and expectations.
Team levels will be determined after tryouts based on the rosters formed, not predetermined by age group. An age division may have a Select Team, Premier Team, or both.
SELECT
Projected Dues: $2,100
• Approximately 2 practices per week
• 6–8 tournaments, minimum of 6
• Primarily local single-day tournaments
• Potential multi-day or travel tournament later in the season
• Academy Days and ManaMinds programming
PREMIER
Projected Dues: $2,400–$2,800
• Approximately 2 practices per week
• 6–8 tournaments, minimum of 6
• Approximately half single-day local events
• Approximately half multi-day events, which may be local or travel
• Opportunities for larger or higher-level events when appropriate
• Academy Days and ManaMinds programming
Most Select and Premier competition will take place within the Mid-Atlantic region.
All tournament schedules, locations, formats, and tournament counts are projections and are subject to tournament availability and acceptance.
Final team level, dues, and season expectations will be provided as part of the team offer.

Uniform Package: Approximately $300
Families are responsible for player and family travel expenses, including hotels, transportation, and meals. Some events may require Stay-to-Play hotel reservations.

• AAU Membership
• CHRVA Membership
• Scorekeeper / Referee Certification — approximately $10
• Nationals expenses, if applicable
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
NATIONALS
Nationals are not included in regular club dues.
If a team earns a qualifying bid or has an opportunity to attend a national championship, families will receive the projected costs and details before a decision is made to participate.
PLAYER CERTIFICATIONS
All players are required to complete applicable scorer and referee training so tournament work-team responsibilities can be shared throughout the season.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds are available only for injuries occurring during a sanctioned LAVA practice or tournament. Approved refunds are prorated and require written notice, physician documentation, and Club Director approval.
Uniform fees and fundraising proceeds are non-refundable.
FUNDRAISING
LAVA may hold club or team fundraising opportunities throughout the season to help support experiences and extras beyond regular club dues.
Fundraising may help cover:
• Media Day
• Tournament photography
• Additional training equipment
• Team bonding activities
• End-of-season activities
• Other player and team experience enhancements
Specific fundraising opportunities and how funds will be used will be communicated to families throughout the season.
